Part of the Bath Street development. Circa 1811. 3 storeys and attic. Ashlar
fronts. Slate roofs. Cornice with astragal and blocking course. No 1 has chamfered
corner with blind windows. 1+1+2+2 bays. No 1A breaks forward slightly. Glazing
bar sash windows. No 1 has a late C19 shop-front with dentil fascia cornice and
curved corner brackets to glazed corner; also remains of an older shop-front in the
shape of a channelled pier. No 1A has 1st floor windows in arched reveals with
moulded impost-level string. Plat band over ground floor has arched doorway to
left with weathered and radiating fanlight, 6 panel (raised and fielded) door and
modern shop-front to right. No 1 has traces of an early C20 painted advertisement
below cornice. Bath Street is a steeply sloping and winding street formed in 1811
to form a wide and direct road from the Market Place to the South.
