No 16 is probably a mid to late C19 extension to No 17 which is early C18. Single
hipped pantile roof over both with no chimneys. 2 storeys on high plinth. Glazing
bar sash windows in architrave surrounds.
No 16: plinth and sides rusticated, band over ground floor, 1st floor rendered.
8 windows. Former central segmental headed door with key stone now a window.
Inserted door to right of this, 6 panel door with cornice, approached by steps at
right angles.
No 17: painted rubble, 2 windows irregularly spaced, per floor. Mid-to-late C19
door to right of centre approached by steps at right angles with railings. End
wall to Palmer Street retains early C18 elevation: 5 bays in coursed rubble, outer
piers. Architraves to windows, the 2 left hand ones paired. Central architrave
door with bracket hood removed. Ground floor right-hand window replaced.
