Thought to be on the site of the mediaeval Chantry Chapel of St Catherine.
Remodelled circa 1830. 3 storeys. Wide elliptical-headed archway to left with
room over. Stone steps below the arch for access to Sheppards Barton (qv). 3
windows to 1st floor (left-hand window over arch), sashes-with glazing bars and
plain architraves and bracketted cornice. Projecting late C19 shop-front to
ground floor right-hand. Wall adjacent to steps shows traces of 2 arched openings,
one possibly for large perpendicular-style window.
