Formerly one house. Circa 1790s villa with Adam influence. Ashlar facades, cornices,
parapets with balusters, panels with carved garlands, moulded string course at 1st
floor level. Rusticated plinth. 2 storeys. Front and return elevations have
1 + 3 - 1 fenestration, slight projection of end bays with raised parapets. Glazing
bar sash, windows, outer and centre 1st floor with architraves and acanthus capped
pilasters to pediments, garlanded panels over outer windows. Wide tripartite doorway
with narrow side-lights and entablature on 4 brackets, fluted frieze with paterae.
Return elevation to south has slight central break with raised cornice flanked by
½-pilasters with acanthus caps and end acanthus capped pilasters (the right hand
one supporting a residual entablature). 1 + 3 + 1 bays, the centre a niche with urn.
Return to north has tall chimneys between centre and sides. Slate roof. Ashlar
chimneys with moulded capping. Interior: contemporary staircase with turned
balusters and small 2-bay screen, fluted pilasters. Front room to south-west has a
contemporary Adam-style fireplace and Greek-key pattern cornice. Ceiling rose.
