Terrace of 3 circa 1720 clothiers' houses, No 16 probably a later addition. Coursed
rubble with freestone dressings, pantile roofs, dormers, stone stacks with capping.
Moulded plinth, moulded eaves cornice. 2 storeys and attics (3 + 3 + 2 gabled
dormers) and cellars. Windows spaced 5 + 5 + 3, sashes in bolection architraves
with cornices and pulvinated friezes to ground floor windows. Central (No 16 to
left) panelled doors under hollow semi-circular hoods on scrolled brackets,
bolection architraves to door openings. Return of No 14 has blocked narrow openings
and a 2 storey mullion window and a single light window on ground floor with moulded
surrounds and drips. Rear: Nos 14 and 15 have stair turrets with bolection surrounds
to glazing bar sashes, on ground floors a small sash window with edge roll and
cornice. No 15 has stepped chimney to rear extension. No 16 has a 2-light ogee
mullion window on the 1st floor. Nos 14 and 15 interiors: good staircase with heavy ,
moulded handrail, straight string and squat balusters (No 15 has ball newels). No 15
has stop-moulded ovolo door surrounds. On 1st floor west room of No 15 is a bolection
surround fireplace with inserted egg-timer grate. No 15 has a double pile segmental
barrel vaulted cellar adjoining the kitchen.
