piers, 10 metres East of Barren
Down House



Coach house and adjacent gate piers. Circa 1800. Rubble, squared quoins, freestone detail, slate roof, coped verges.
Rectangular on plan of high quality construction. Single storey, 2-bays. Wide doorway to left with segmental arch head,
plain stone architrave. To right square head doorway with plain architrave flanked by 12-light sash windows in similar
surrounds. Pitching eye in left return. Adjacent gate piers of rusticated ashlar with moulded capstones.
