2/19 The Bell Inn

GV II

Inn. Late C17. Roughcast, double Roman tile roof, coped verges, brick stacks. Lobby entrance, symmetrical facade.
2-storeys, 3-bays, 2 and 3-light stone mullion windows (those to upper floor ovolo moulded except right bay which has
C20 casement). Central doorway, ovolo moulded stone surround, C20 reproduction studded door, transom light above. Wing
to left of 2-storeys, 2-bays under low mansard roof, C20 casements except plain 2-light stone mullion window now partly
obscured by C20 door opening; reproduction studded door, open pent-roofed porch suppported on slender wooden pillars.
Interior contains 2 broad fireplaces with wooden lintols supported by stone jambs, those to right hearth being dressed
and moulded, stone fireback dated 1683.
