Public shelter, formerly well. Dated 1908 by Sir Edwin Lutyens for Horner family as a memorial to Mark Horner. Squared
Doulting rubble and some ashlar; 3-sided open structure having pyramidal stone tile roof supported by 3 three piers.
Wall on east side with stone bench, plain coping, lettering by Eric Gill:- "For the use of Mells Village In The Memory
of Mark Horner l908". Floor of flag, centre section of cobbles in 3 sided pattern, flight of stone steps to west. Roof
supported by elaborate oak king post construction.
