of rear of The Chantry

GV II*

A series of grottoes, niches, caves, and archways forminq a rustic landscape strewn with rocky outcrops; set in the
shallow valley of a stream running into Chantry Pond. Circa 1830 for James Fussell. Local limestone rubble. Salient
feature is the fictive cliff incorporating a series of niches which overlook the scene. Pathways dive in and out of
various features and structures; ruined archway adjoins Chantry Pond. The scene is complimented by surrounding Yew
trees.
