3/123 Chimney at NGR ST 7447 5083

-

- II

Chimney. C19. Tapering stack, square on plan, approximately 20 metres high; in 3 stages; bottom 2 stages of coursed rubble divided by a plain band; top stage of red and blue engineering brick with an oversailing course. Formerly part of a coal mine, now disused; the chimney all that remains. An unusual survival in a now completely rural area. (Robin Atthill, Old Mendip, p179, 1971)
