GV II

House. Dated 1658 but probably earlier in origin. Random rubble stone, now painted. Clay pantile gabled roof with
central, brick, chimney stack and 3 coped gables off the front wall with double Roman clay tile roofs, one with
pantiles and finials. One and a half storey, 3-window front, 'L'-plan, probably once a medieval open hall house.
Entrance between windows 1 and 2. 6-panel door, set behind a moulded stone frame with 4-centred moulded arch in a
square head with spandrel shields, one with initials "TIA", the other with date. To left of door; 4-light ovolo
moulded, stone mullion window with stopped dripmould. To right of door 2- and 3- light wood mullion windows under a
common wood lintel. At first floor, three, 3-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows with stopped dripmoulds. All
windows with casements and rectangular leaded lights. Said to contain C17 fireplaces, spiral stairs and beams, cruck
frames and roof timbers of the earlier structure. (VAG Report, Unpublished SRO, April 1980).
