Turnpike toll house, now dwelling. Early C19. Ashlar road frontage, rubble on returns; slate roof hipped to frontage,
to rear with coped verge with cruciform finial. Tudor style. Two storeys, 2-bay road front, blank window openings to
first floor under stopped labels. Broad central door opening to ground floor with 4-centred head, emphasised spandrels,
stopped label, panelled door; door surround breaks forward slightly under a pedimental gable. Single-light and 2-light
stone-mullioned windows to returns, stopped labels. Single storey outshut to left return. Part of Shepton Mallet
Turnpike Trust.
