churchyard of Church of St Katthow


Lych gate. 1936, probably for Jubilee of George VI. Rubble plinths with dressed freestone cappings, oak superstructure,
shingled roof with bellcast and wheel-cross finials. Medieval style. Massive superstructure with 4-rain posts,
archbracing, bridging beams, roof ridge at right angles to frontage; ends of exposed beams carved with grotesque casks.
Bridging bear to frontage with inscription:- *M0RS IANVA VITAE". Gates.
