Drinking trough incorporating an
- ornamental grotto, on roadside

Drinking trough incorporating an ornamental grotto, a memorial to the coronation of George V. Dated 1911. Dressed
freestone and coursed and squared rubble. In a Classical style. Small semi-circular head archway facing roadside with
imposts and dropped key, carved figures, incised lettering each side; the archway gives onto a rubble-lined grotto
inset in a bank. At the base of the archway a bowl filled by a spout from an ornamental lions-head mask. Entablature
overall with commemorative inscription of the coronation of George V. Important roadside feature.
