GV II*

Gazebo, Early C18. Flemish bond red brick, some random rubble to ground floor, plain band at first floor level, moulded
sill band. Ogee shaped slate roof (formerly with a ball finial, removed at time of resurvey July 1984). Square on plan,
2 storeys, gazebo to first floor, store room to ground floor; gazebo with 2 windows to each face, flush mounted 12-pane
sash windows with emphasised voussoirs and keystone; projecting brick stack to North side; entrance to East side in a
Venetian surround with emphasised triple keystone; 6-panelled door, 3-light fanlight, 8-pane sash window to each side
with flanking pilasters and a cornice; the door is reached by a flight of 13 stone steps with nosings; splayed brick
parapet to each side with a moulded stone coping. To North side of ground floor a broad segmental archway, brick
voussoirs, supporting the stack. Interior with a fireplace. Attached rubble walls to East and North approximately 2.5
metres high, that to North extending for 40 metres, that to East for 120 metres, 4-centered arch door opening, 10 metre
section to East end turns North-East. Walling included primarily for group value.
