7/56 Great House Farmhouse

GV II

Manor house, now farmhouse. C17. Roughcast, triple Roman and pantile roof, coped verges, a brick and 2 roughcast
stacks. Two storeys, 3 bays; 2 and 3-light casements, predominantly C19, though those on first floor of C17 and
transomed. Pair of French windows with glazing bars to left of ground floor. Principal door opening with 6-panelled
door. Attached outbuilding of lower height at right-angles to left of frontage; roughcast, double- Roman tile roof, 2
casements. Principal interior feature the dog-leg stair-case in a turret to rear; newel post with finial, pendant,
splat balusters; 2 rooms with ornamental plaster cornices. (VAG report, unpublished SRO July, 1980).
