8/95 Church of St. Peter and St. John

II

Anglican church. 1844 by Benjamin Ferrey. Random rubble, squared rubble, buttresses with offsets, tile roof, coped
verges, to east with cruciform finial, to west with gabled bellcote with bell. Nave with continuous chancel, south
porch. Perpendicular style. Two and 4-light windows, labels with carved heads as stops, simple leaded lights. Gabled
porch, pointed arch outer door opening, paired panelled doors. Interior plastered on tile floor, elaborate tie beam
roof; all fittings late C19 except 2 Jacobean sconces, a chair, and chest; medieval lectern. (VCH forthcoming).
