(Marked on OS Map as Cossington Lodge). Toll house, now house. Late C18/
early C19, some C20 alteration and addition. Coursed and squared rubble,
thatched roof with undulating eaves, colourwashed brick stacks. L-plan, Gothick.
Main frontage to Bath Road, single storey, 2 bays, 2-light stone mullioned
windows with Y-tracery and pointed heads, square paned leaded lights; similar
window to each end elevation of this range in a shallow pointed head recess.
Door opening on left return, segmental head, freestone surround, keystone,
C20 door. Other elevations in conforming style. important roadside feature.
Part of the Bridgwater Turnpike Trust.
