Small country villa, now school. Early C19. Rendered and colourwashed, dentil
eaves cornice supporting troughing, squared rubble and brick stacks, main part
with hipped slate roof, addition with double-Roman tile roof. Roughly square
on plan; with single storey addition to north; flat roof, parapet with coping.
Garden front to west of 1:1 bays, that to right in shallow full height segmental
bows, 12-pane sash windows on first floor, a 15 and an 18-pane sash window on
ground floor. Entrance front of 2 bays in conforming style, porch with pilasters,
cornice and parapet, segmental door opening, paired 2-panelled doors. Later C19
brick and rubble addition to north, 2 storeys and attic, mainly 2-light
casements with glazing bars. Interior with good cantilever staircase;
fireplaces; doors; plaster cornices; hall with stone setts. Stated to be on a
medieval site. Formerly known as Edington Manor.
