6/47 Field barn on roadside
opposite Chandlers Cottage


Field barn with attached shelter shed to each side. C18. Coursed rubble,
pantiled gambrel roof, deep eaves. Five bays; rectangular on plan. The long
east and west sides with an open "colonnade" of rubble piers which form 2 open
shelters; behind the "colonnade" on each side access to the barn, via paired
plank doors with iron strap hinges; the doorways set opposite to each other.
Unaltered example of the local style of agricultural building.
