Listing Text

No 4
(Causeway Farmhouse)
Farmhouse, now house. Datestone in ornamental frame: "TH 1734", Rendered and
colourwashed, Bridgwater patent tile roof, brick stacks. L-plan. Two storeys,
3-bays, 3, 4, and 5-light moulded stone mullioned windows, label to left of
ground floor, similar to right but continued over the central door opening,
architrave, half glazed door. The building is in the style of the C17, but
the general presentation suggests it was deliberately archaic, rather than
an early building with a later datestone. Interior with features of interest.
(VAG report, unpublished SRO, April l975).
