3/74 The Old Smithy



Cottage, incorporating a disused smithy. C17 and C19. Rendered over random rubble, steeply pitched roofs double Roman
tiles on smithy, thatched on dwelling with brick stack to left. Dwelling on right, attached single storey wing,
originally smithy, left with long return elevation. One and one and a half storeys, 2:2 bays; main block, very large 4-
and 6-light transomed casements with glazing bars, round headed doorway centre with six panel door and carved mask
above; to left, early C19 4-light four centred arch window, centre lights with marginal glazing re-set, and C20 metal
casement with leaded panes right.
