Country house, now hospital. C17, enlarged mid C18, remodelled late C19 and mid C20. Red sandstone random rubble, quoin
strips distinguishing central bay, outer bays, and extension to left, dentil moulded cornice forming shallow pediment
over central bay, slate roof with coped verges, roof of left-hand bay concealed behind parapet, brick stacks left and
right. Main facade facing East with one bay extension at South end, part of "U"-shaped South facade, site of original
house. 2-storeys, six bays; sash windows, rusticated voussoirs, two round headed dormers and lunette window in
pediment, first floor window below has shouldered surrounds, ground floor central doorway flanked by canted bay windows
with sandstone plinths and dentil mouldings. Gabled porch with console brackets at the angles and pilasters, C19 double
doors with marginal glazing bars and partly coloured glass, approached by flight of five steps.
