5/120 Quantock Cottage and Hollydeane


GV II

Farmhouse and detached building now joined to form 2 dwellings. Late medieval, ceiled C16, enlarged to West and linked
to detached medieval out building late C20. Roughcast over rubble and cob, double Roman tiled roof, brick stacks left
gable end and on crosswing Plan: 2 cells and cross passage lying East West, enlarged to West and linked by angled wall
to medieval building set gable end onto road, and now fording 2 dwellings. North East portion of facade: 2 storeys; 2:2
bays; all C20 2 and 3-light caseaents, slight brick wall end bay left, angled wall linking outbuilding C20 left, doors
in cross wing and second bay left. Interior not sighted: said to contain moulded 12-paned coopartaent ceiling, franked
partition to cross passage and remains of jointed cruck truss roof. The original detached building to the north is said
to have contained a single light trefoiled ogee headed window subsequently resited in Hollydeane. (VAG Report,
