House. Late C16-early Cl7, enlarged and extensively altered circa 1840. Rendered over rubble, slate roof: coped verges,
stone stacks left gable end, rendered stack to left and cross gable. L-plans evolution not clear, L earlier dwelling
enlarged C19 an South front. Two storeys, 3:1:1 bays, 2 and 3-light C19 mullioned windows with transoms on ground floor
and 4-light in single storey canted bay with balustrade to gabled fourth bay, entrance in single storey Ham stone C19
porch, plinth, balustrade, 4-centred arch opening, boarded soffit, moulded C19 door. Left return on to churchyard,
blocked mullioned window under hoodmould C17 ovolo moulded mullioned windows on elevation between stopped buttresses
reaching almost to eaves, Interior: roof renewed, C19 compartment ceiling left of cross passage, imported C17 panelling
in room to right, early C19 air,plasterwork ceiling to rear, probably early C16, the only surviving notable feature.
The house was a brewery in the C19 and has previously been known as Barton and then Court Place.
