2/30 Knapp Bridge at NGR ST 3018 2604

Road bridge over River Tone. Circa 1820. Squared and coursed blue lias, saddle back Ham stone coping and Ham stone voussoirs. Single span, semi-circular arch, string course, end pilasters, hump backed bridge. This is very similar to the bridges over the Taunton-Bridgwater canal erected c1825 to the designs of James Hollinsworth. The bridge is shown on the Greenwood map of Somerset, published 1822.
