Road bridge over remains of Grand Western Canal. 1831-38 by James Green engineer to the Canal Company. Limestone dressed and squared, dressed voussoirs and string band, heavy rounded edge coping. Single flat segmental arch carried on 4 cast iron ribs bearing cast iron plates as centring for road bed. Straight abutments. An early and rare example of a canal bridge of cast iron construction. The canal closed in 1867.
