10/30 Heale House
Farmhouse, now dwelling. Late C16-early C17, extended, reroofed and refenestrated mid
C19; altered in mid C20. Rendered over rubble, random rubble returns and extension left
with brick stack, stack to left of cross passage removed, rubble stack right gable end,
Welsh slate roof. Plan: 2-cell and cross passage, left hand room with coeval small
room at rear,probably dairy, extended one bay left and enlarged at rear with stair.
Two storeys, 3 bays, 3-light late C19 wooden casements, addition unlit on facade,
central moulded square headed surround to half glazed studded plank door fronted
bv C19 gabled porch; hood mould on right return gable end, possibly C16, Interior:
square headed chamfered door frame to rear, steeply chamfered beams with steps and
runout stops, chamfered lintel to right gable end fireplace carved with date 1637,
winder stairs formerly beside stacks: C19 kingpost roofs. Possibly a 3-cell and
cross passage farmhouse originally, or longhouse.
