Milestone. Late Cl8-early C19. Sandstone and cast iron. Cambered head to
stone slab, shaped corners at top of rectangular plaque, raised surround
and raised lettering inscribed '5 Miles to Taunton', bolted to stone with
3 long bolts projecting at rear; in all about 700 mm high. Unusual in that lettering is raised rather than incised, and also the projecting bolts
visible at rear.
