Farmhouse. Circa early to mid C17, extended in C18. Timber-framed with painted brick infill and rendered stone or brick. Clay plain tile roof with gabled ends. Rendered gable-end and axial stacks.
PLAN: The original north range is of two-room plan with gable-end stacks. In the C18 a two-room plan parallel range was built at the back [south], linked to the earlier range by a stairhall, with a C20 porch on its east side.
EXTERIOR: two storeys and attic. Almost symmetrical north front, rendered on the ground floor and large framing above with long straight tension braces; C20 two- and three-light casements, three on ground floor and two on first floor. Slightly taller south range also with C20 casements and with C20 conservatory on the rear [south].
INTERIOR: The north range has chamfered axial beams with some straight-cut stops and unchamfered joists in ground floor rooms and in chambers above; chambers have exposed wall-framing; ground floor left [east] room has large fireplace with chamfered timber lintel with run-out stops. Stairhall has slightly chamfered exposed joists, C18 fielded two-panel doors and C18 open-well staircase with thick stick balusters, square newels and moulded handrail. Two moulded plank doors. Roof of north range has central partition, its principals with large trenched purlins. Attics in south range ceiled but purlins exposed.
