The Perceval Shrine

Shrine to Spencer Percival)

Circa 1815. A small structure set into the hillside of the park commemorating
Spencer Perceval, the Premier, who was shot by a madman in the lobby of the House
of Commons in 1812. An ashlar vaulted recess with segmental arch, embattled parapet,
and lean-to stone roof.
