Farmhouse. Mid C17 or earlier, with C18, C19 and late C20
alterations and additions. Red brick below a plain blue tile
roof, with plain gables, and tall brick ridge stacks with
corbelled oversailing courses and crested square clay pots. L
shaped range, the earliest part to the west, the later part, as
crosswing at the east end. Lower range to west, of central baffle
entry plan form. South elevation. Two storeys three bays, with
doorway against off centre stack towards east end. Plank door
beneath segmental brick arch stack 3 light windows to east of
doorway, each light of 3 panes, ground floor opening beneath
segmental arch, first floor head below dentilled eaves band.
Small fire window to west of door, then stacked windows to centre
bay, and single 3 light casement beneath segmental arch to west
end bay. Rendered west gable, with 2 light metal casement to
first floor. Single storey, single bay extension to rear
elevation encloses doorway into centre bay. Taller crosswing
to east end recently remodelled and extended (1993) with stacked
segmental arch headed window openings with non traditional C20
window frames to both bays of the east elevation. Interior of
earlier range with back to back hearths serving centre and
eastern bays, the latter with a timber hearth beam. Exposed spine
beams to rooms with hearths, and cruck trusses to partition walls
between east and centre bays, and centre and west bays. The
trusses have been cut back at ground floor level, and the western
most truss retains a collar beam.
