Stable, cartsheds and gate pier. In their present form the stables
and cartsheds are early C19 but incorporate a considerable amount of
earlier material. Red brick with timber framed core, plain tile roof.
Aligned north-east/south-west facing south-east. One storey and loft.
2 segmental-headed doors to the right; 2 cartshed openings to the left.
Gabled dormers to right and centre and gabled loft door to the left.
Attached to the right is a C17 square section gate pier with pyramidal
cap which flanks one side of a blocked entrance to the outer courtyard
at Hamstall Hall (q.v.). Interior. Cross walls of square panel
timber framing with tension braces. Roof trusses with curved principals.
Re-used C15/early C16 ceiling beam with ogee and quarter circle moulding,
probably from a now demolished section of Hamstall Hall (q.v.).
