SK 02 SW BLITHFIELD C.P. BLITHFIELD PARK

pier. (Formerly listed as
"Lodges, Gatepiers and
gates of Blithfield Hall")

GV II

Lodge . Early C19 with late C20 extensions. Ashlar; cruciform slate
roof with coped verges; single cell square plan; gabled on all 4 sides;
Gothic style. One storey; one 5-light window with trefoil arched
lights under a square head and returned hood mould, 3 heraldic shields
to gable above; 2 panelled piers to right flanking a cast iron fence.
C20 extensions to left and rear in a similar style. East front: Central
6-traceried panel door with moulded surround and hood mould, and heraldic
shield over. Friary Lodge forms a pair with Bagot Lodge (q.v.) and
flanks one side of the main drive to Blithfield Hall (q.v.).
