SK 13 SW MARCHINGTON C.P. BIRCH CROSS

Cottage. C17 with later additions. Timber framed on stone plinth;
thatched roofs; brick ridge stacks. One storey and attic, 2 square
panels to eaves; probably 2 framed bays, 2 ground-floor windows and
3 dormers with roof sweeping over them, casements; central door and
gabled timber framed porch with thatched roof. Single-storey
extension to left with long 5-light window; 2-bay extension to right
with imitation timber framing. C17 house has queen strut roof
trusses with central vertical strut above collar.
