3/43 Vicarage Cottage,
- garden wall and
gate piers

GV II

Village farmhouse. Early to mid C19. Coursed rubble; stone slate
roof. Plain rectangular range in 2 parts aligned north-west/south-east,
aspect south-west. 2+2 windows, 16-pane glazing bar sashes in raised
surrounds; quoined entrance with simple flat bracketted hood and glazed
C20 door. Coped end verges on kneelers and low pitched roof; mid C19
paired integral end stacks and a further pair to right of centre hard
against an earlier ashlar stack, roughly in line with straight joint
presumably indicating that the right hand part is an addition. Bowed
front garden defined by low (150mm) wall with rounded capping ranged up
to gate piers which have shaped capping. An integral part of the
picturesque village grouping.
