Memorial. 1840 with C20 restoration. In the style of the Eleanor
Crosses. 6-sided. Base stepped up to first stage consisting of trefoil
headed panels flanked by nook shafts and with pointed crocketed hoods
over; second stage has trefoil headed niches containing figures with
crocketed pointed hoods over surmounted by crocketed finials; third
stage is a C20 cross and cross shaft. Erected in memory of the first
Mrs. Watts Russell by her husband. Occupies a prominent position in the later
model estate village created by George Gilbert Scott.
