Lodge. c1855. By George Gilbert Scott. Coursed and squared
limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings; shaped tile roof
with plain tile bands; coursed and squared rubble external end stacks
with ashlar multi-gabled caps; Swiss cottage idea in a Gothic style;
T-shape plan. 1 storey, 1:1 windows; gabled crosswing to left with
5-light bay window, bracketed wooden lattic work to gable, shaped barge
boards and finial; gabled porch to centre with wooden lattice work and
barge boards to gable approached by flight of steps; 3-light window to
right; all window lights have trefoiled heads and leaded casements.
An essential part of the picturesque Alpine style estate village created
by Scott.
