Tower, possible former dovecote, c1830. Probably built by James Trubshawe.
Rough faced ashlar; hammer dressed ashlar plinth and steps. Octagonal
plan. Flight of steps leading to ground floor door with Caernarvon arch
head; lancet loops in every other face at mid-height; a roll moulded
string marks the upper stage which consists of alternate square panels
of a blank shield and a cruciform loop; crested eaves to an 8-sided dome
of fishscale work capped by a ball finial. James Trubshawe built the
probably contemporary Ilam Hall to the designs of John Shawe.
