Milepost. Dated 1879. Cast iron. Circular shaft with convex-faced
rectangular display (damaged top left corner), set approximately
600mm above ground level, divided down centre and inscribed on left:
"LEEK/5/MILES" and "NEWCASTLE/7 MILES/BURSLEM/4 1/2 MILES" to right;
domed top above display and base of shaft inscribed in quatrefoil
panel: "R & D/STONE/1879".
