Milepost. Dated 1834. Cast iron. Circular plan of post supporting enlarged head set approximately 100mm above ground level inscribed to left of division facing road: "LEEK/6/MILES"; and to right: "ASHB/9/MILES". Domed head inscribed: "JAMES BASSETT ASHBOURNE 1834"; post below head inscribed: "LONDON 148 MILES".
