Farmhouse. C16 remains to early C18 refacing of an incomplete part of
an earlier house, extended early C19 and now derelict. Red brick and
timber frame; tiled roofs; a ridge stack and large side stack remain. The
house is now dominated by an early C19 addition of 3 storeys with dentilled
eaves course, a wide frontage but only one range of casement windows
placed centrally. The lower C16 remains are attached to right and comprise
a single bay cross-wing, gabled parallel to the C19 part belonging
to a house which was probably of hall and cross-wing type running at right
angles to the remaining block. An interior side wall of herringbone
bracing in five panels is now exposed. The gable return to the right
is faced in early C18 brick, banded at floor levels and with segmental
gauged brick heads over the single range of casement windows. A roof
truss of collared type and with straight windbraced double purlins is
visible where the hall ridge was attached.
