Post. C14-C16. Millstone grit. Truncated shaft, 4ft 9ins tall, set in base of
roughly hewn stone. It is mentioned in an account of the perambulation of the
boundaries of Bucknall Manor in 1803. It was probably a boundary mark (J,D.
Johnstone, "Werrington: Some notes on its History", 1946, reprinted 1976, p. 16.)
