The Barracks, Throwley

Stables and groom's quarters now cowhouse. C17. Coursed limestone
rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings; plain tile roof; ashlar
integral end stack. Aligned north-south facing east. 2 storeys;
7 bays, 2-light chamfer mullioned windows with rebated surrounds;
doors to left and right. Rear: three 2-light chamfer mullioned
windows to first floor right and double leaf door to first floor left
of centre. Interior: wooden animal stalls. Throwley Barracks is
part of a picturesque grouping of buildings including Throwley Hall
(q.v.). and Throwley Old Hall (q.v.).
