8/75 Blackwood House
- and attached barn

Farmhouse and attached barn. C17 with alterations of 1850 and later.
Coursed and squared rubble; tiled roofs; brick end stacks to house.
'L'-shaped plan with farm range to west adjoining house to east by
carriage arch. House: 2-storey, 2-window, garden front; 3-light
chamfer mullions to first floor repeated to left on the ground floor;
right-hand window of 5 lights with king mullion arranged 2:3 lights;
C20 casement to extreme right and door to extreme left. Ground floor
partially obscured by C20 lean-to. Farm building: C17 with alterations
dated 1850; of taller (raised) eaves but similar ridge height; short
return attached to left of house with giant vermiculated voussoirs to
flat-arched carriage entry; long range running north/south of 2 levels
with evenly-spaced loft doors over 3 stables, each with top-hung case-
ment and boarded doors (one now blocked); butterfly-shaped vents to
both floors; datestone to rear of barn with low-relief carving
inscribed "+ H.C. A.D. MDCCCL +".
