Cottage orné, possibly used as a shooting box. Early C19. Rough-faced,
coursed stone; tiled roof of low pitch behind crenellated parapet.
Romantic composition in mock castle style. 2 storeys. Irregularly
fenestrated 3-window front; pointed arch casements set below parapet
to left and a pair to right with gablets over; further pointed arch
window to ground floor set between those on first floor; large 3-sided
projecting stair turret to left of centre with one small slit-light to
each face. Entrance to side. Picturesque extension to right close to
large natural cave mouth. Magnificent setting against the broken rock
face of the Roaches.
