Description

TL 77 SE CAVENHAM ICKLINGHAM ROAD

5/10 Cavenham Mill
-
- II

Watermill, C19 with C17 or C18 core and C20 alterations. Timber-framed and
weather-boarded. Pantiled roof. Various small-paned windows; boarded door.
The framing of the storage area between mill-race and the attached mill-house
is probably of C17 or early C18, and some members are reused from an earlier
building. The C19 machinery (driving only one pair of millstones) and the
mill-race of gault brick are complete but not in working order at the date of
survey.
