Terrace of 4 almshouses, 1722 on central plaque, for Sir Thomas Hanmer of Wamil
Hall, a Speaker of The House of Commons. 1 storey, 8 windows. Pink/brown
brick with dressings of orange brick. Hipped plaintiled roof with axial
chimneys of red brick. C20 steel casements with leaded lights in C18 openings;
segmental arched heads of finely gauged orange brick. Doorways with similar
heads; C20 framed and boarded doors with fanlights. A limestone plaque with
moulded border commemorates the Founder and construction date in a florid Latin
script.
