Shop, formerly The George Public House. Late C17 or early C18 with probable
earlier core. Alterations of C19 and C20. 2 storeys and attics. Timber-
framed and rendered. Concrete plaintiled roof with flat-roofed casement
dormers. Early C19 small-pane sash windows to upper floor. C20 bay shop-front
with pair of recessed glazed entrance doors. A 1-cell early C18 wing to rear,
reusing materials from a C16 building: 2 storeys. Partly timber-framed and
rendered; with parapet gable walls of gault brick; corbelled brick kneelers and
gable chimney. Pantiled roof with deep modillioned eaves. An C18 cross-window
at 1st floor. C20 internal alterations.
