A superb example of an early C16 clothiers house. It stands at right
angles to the road with exposed timber-framing on the front. The gable
and upper storey are jettied on carved bressumers and the upper storey
is supported on exposed joists with curved brackets, moulded capitals
and shafts. Two storeys. The ground storey has a 7-light oriel
window with moulded mullions and soffit and carved transom. There is
an original wide doorway with a 4-centred arch with carved spandrels
and an original door with a wicket in it, leading to a passage extending
the length of the building with a similar doorway at the other end.
The upper storey has a 7-light mullioned oriel window with a moulded
cill (restored). The interior has fine beams and good original features.
